Not fine
Now listen here, we don't mean to keep sounding like a broken record, but maybe
that'll end when we quite breaking records. We have to hope here that the forecast
for this coming weekend and early next week is wrong. Here's the setup...chance
of storms later today and tonight across the western portions of the state, maybe
spilling over into central areas overnight. Not as much moisture available, but
watch out for large hail and some strong winds. Normal stuff. Same thing (sorta)
for Thursday. But then things look a bit more ominous as we get into the weekend
with a stalled front and tons of moisture pumped north from the Gulf of Mexico.
We'll worry about the severe weather chances (and those look possible) later, but
right now the big worry is for repeated rounds of storms across flood impacted
areas. And those chances appear to head right into early next week as well. Here
are some graphics to get me to shut up for a minute.
This is probably not fine. But we still have a chance of these being absolutely
wrong. Heck, we'd settle for being a bit wrong. But we simply cannot handle this
much additional rainfall. Check out the GARGANTUAN totals we've received since
this mess began on April 30. For northeastern, central, and north central
Oklahoma, easily their wettest such period since at least 1921.
Wish there was better news. Again, we hope these forecasts and outlooks fizzle.
Or even drizzle. But no more rain for awhile.
