BLAH!
Here we sit with another overcast, gray day with drizzle and light rain, as the
totals have slowlllly inched up over the last 24 hours (here's a
canine-unencumbered view).
Granted, usually folks want rain in Oklahoma, as we are seemingly on the verge of
drought at all times. But I think we can finally say enough is enough, at least
for all but the far northeastern corner of the state. Just look at the rainfall
amounts over the last 30 days. Do ya think the people in southwestern Oklahoma
needed more rain?
Doubtful! As we look at the latest Drought Monitor map, however, I'd say parts
of northeastern Oklahoma would actually welcome a bit more rain, but are
thankful for what they did get (thus the overjoyed basset hound).
And that's the last remaining holdout in the drought category, covering a mere
1.6% of the state. They should get a bit more rain up that way, some today
and then possibly into next week. The 7-day precip forecast at least has that
area of the state in the relatively higher forecast amounts.
To avoid looking like an angry chihuahua, we look to Saturday, which appears
to be shaping up as a glorious fall day (DISCLAIMER: college football results
MAY interfere with that description).
After that, a cold front on Sunday will cool us down and blow some northerly
winds through your pumpkins. And then that stormy weather will threaten your
little ghosts and goblins for Halloween with soggy caramel apples.
More rain. BOO?
No. Boo hoo.
