Eye of Summer
One does not simply WALK into Oklahoma. Well, I guess you can, but why? That's
beside the point. Quit getting off track when I have something silly-yet-important
to say! It's going to be HOT the next few days. I mean like REALLY hot. As the
Tulsa NWS warns, perhaps the hottest temperatures some folks have seen since
August 2012!
"...Friday, by which time both NAM and GFS raw surface temps reflect
some rather extreme values of 110 to 115 in parts of eastern OK.
While perhaps not that hot, actual temps above 105 appear likely
albeit with much lower dew points. Still, heat headlines will be
needed for both days, possibly heat warnings in some areas
depending on how dew points trend. Many places will see the
hottest temperatures since August 2012."
It was hot yesterday, it's gonna be hotter today, it's gonna be hotter than
yesterday than today tomorrow, and it's gonna be hotter than yesterday than today
than tomorrow on Friday!
(Save that sentence to ask folks that you suspect having heat stroke. If they
understand it, they might have heat stroke)!
There is a heat advisory in effect for much of the state for today through
Friday evening for temperatures and heat indexes into the 105-110 range, but
that might be a bit low in some cases.
Maybe, and I mean MAYBE, a bit of relief for part of the state on Saturday. Don't
count on it, and folks down in the SW are probably out of luck anyway.
There you go. Okies-es are going to fry, precious.
