Ticker for June 25, 2018

An ominous Ticker title considering the main body didn\'t send today. Let\'s try again.
And we will never surrender!

Surrender

Wow! So all the rainfall prognostications finally came true and then some. It\'s a
*bit* unusual to see this much rain in late June, but even more so to see so much
severe weather. Normally these late in the month the jet stream has retreated to
the north and we might see it a time or two before it really comes back in early
fall, but this extended stay brought a plethora of severe reports. Mostly wind,
some hail, lots of flooding, and even a couple of tornadoes in the Panhandle.
Here are the SPC storm reports from the last few days.

And as of this morning, the Oklahoma Mesonet has measured 90 wind gusts considered
\"severe\" by NWS criteria (at least 58 mph). I won\'t show you the WHOLE list, but
here are the highest gusts.

Since Camargo has the two top gusts, maybe a look at their meteogram would be
interesting.

You can definitely see where the bow echo moved through the area a little after
midnight. How about if we look back 4 days? I\'ll bet we\'ll see several
instances of those storm\\\'s moving through from the NW.

Sure enough, each storm complex that moved through brought a pretty good gust
front with it and another dose of rain.

Here\'s the deal, for all intents and purposes, at the end of the day, that
being said...we\'re not done yet. Not only is it still raining, but we have
perhaps one more round to go later this afternoon.

So not TOO much to worry about this afternoon, mainly flooding concerns if we
get any significant rains where soils are already saturated. After that, all
this mess moves to the east and we get a ridge of high pressure. In the summer,
a ridge generally means heat, so we\'ll start to crank up the temperatures. With
all this moisture, should make for a steamy week ahead.
