Here comes winter!

Well, if you stayed up all night, you got a nice taste of spring! After a
bone-chilling day yesterday, we saw temperatures rise overnight into the 60s and
even a few 70s before another cold front came sweeping down the Plains. Just
check out the last 24 hours from Kingfisher, for example.

That's a nice meteogram, right up until about 8am when the winds started
gusting to 40 mph from the north. You can see similar traces from all across
northwestern Oklahoma (and coming soon to a Mesonet site near you!). Like
Newkirk's.

At any rate, not a pleasant day. And if you're lucky to be still south of the
front, make your peace with Mother Nature. What we're left with is extreme fire
danger across western Oklahoma

winds gusting 40-60 mph

and to top it off, a frost/freeze warning for nearly the entire state!

Rain with this system? HA! You (and I) wish.

Maybe later down the week.

Until then, sit back and enjoy some of the worst that Mother Nature has to
offer. Spring is right around the...no wait, spring is already here??
