The secret about droughts

Let me tell you a story about a man named Jed, poor mountaineer...whoops, wrong
story. Let me tell you a story (a secret, really) about droughts: it doesn't
rain a lot during them. And here's another secret...when you get a lot of rain
in the forecast, it generally doesn't pan out. So our ballyhooed storm system
for this week is starting to look more and more anemic as we go forward. I had
people asking me if we were going to get a snow day (or ice day?) on Friday.

SNOW DAY? You should be happy for a decent cold rain. It's drought! But it did
rain and ice a tad over the weekend. We had slippery travel once again off
in eastern Oklahoma, but totals were underwhelming.

But other than that, it's the same old story. It's gonna be cold, them warm,
then almost hot with increased fire danger, then a mostly dry cold front with
possibly just enough frozen precip to be a nuisance.

Thursday? YAYYYYY!!!

Friday? BOOOOOO!!!

Then we can look towards next week's MASSIVE storm system that's just starting
to be hyped, and hope that hype actually comes true. One has to eventually!
