Weather at the podium
Sorry, the panel of judges on the Ticker consists of one person, and that's ME!
I'm giving this morning's temperatures a -7.0, which is what it feels like at
Beaver. That's good for a Bronze.
I'll go ahead and give Friday's highs a 5.0, after deductions for no 70s on the
map. That's a silver.
And then summer gets the gold. We (me) gave June 26, 2011, a 9.5. We had some
hundreds, but we deducted 0.5 points because it was a bit too hot even for our
tastes.
The rest of this winter didn't place because of drought. But it did rain a bit
yesterday. No doubt some of that freezing rain that fell and caused so many
accidents just to the southeast of I-44 still has to melt and register on the
Mesonet's rain gauges.
Still nothing, though, for the rest of the state. Drought has taken firm hold
over all of Oklahoma, and little relief is in sight.
Next week, maybe? We'll believe it when we see it.
By the way, Feb. 10, 2011, is disqualified for steroids. Winter on steroids,
that is.
