The Incredible Dry

Yeah, you young'uns are going to have to look that one up. Before all these
wonderful CGI-generated Hulks, we had some good old fashioned green contact
lenses, paint, and a classic 1970s era bodybuilder. AND the classic tagline...
"Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry."

Well, somebody has done gone and made Mother Nature angry, because our dry
weather continues. Especially for the last 30-35 days or so. The 7-day forecast
map above with an angry Bruce Banner tells us don't expect much relief across
western OK this week. And these maps show how dry it is getting.

That last one is rather jarring...the 4th driest Oct. 14-Nov. 12 since at least
1921 for the Panhandle, Harper and Ellis counties. Not good. It's not looking
good for next week either, although this outlook was strictly computer
generated, hence no human input on how to interpret the lines, make changes, etc.

It also looks warm, which doesn't help matters.

So while there is a chance of rain today, don't expect much. Give thanks for
what does fall, because it might be awhile before the next drop.

And by writing this, I have guaranteed either flooding or a blizzard for
Thanksgiving.
