It's a GREAT day for rain!
Apparently there was some sort of sporting event played last night that everybody
was interested in? I wouldn't know, I was on my veranda sipping a snifter of
fine chocolate milk (Braum's, of course) and listening to Bach. Ahhhhh, Bach. But
I was also watching storms and rain go all around me but leaving me mostly high and
dry. As we mentioned yesterday, some folks got some really good rains, and others,
well, not so much. Here's the rainfall map without the not-so-clever meme attached.
1-2+ inches in some places, like south central and far NE Oklahoma. Not too shabby.
Very scattered otherwise. And if we look at today's brand new U.S. Drought Monitor
map, we will notice that for the most part, the places that needed it the most
were left wanting.
We now have over 36% of the state in drought with intensification in the NW and
SE portions of the state. Nearly 8% of that drought is in the severe category
down across SE OK (one the places that needed it the most).
Hopefully some more rain will come our way. It's close...but yet so far.
