Day 2 down and counting
Yes yes, I'm fully aware Bogie never said "play it again, Sam" in "Casablanca,"
and neither did Ingrid Bergman. But they came close enough for me to meme it.
When has the lack of historical accuracy stopped me before?
But we are talking about severe weather again, and we've seen it the last couple
of days, and we will probably see more on and off through the end of the week.
Yesterday's severe weather was mostly confined to far western OK, especially
in the SW with some big wind and hail reports. Some of those big winds show up
on the Mesonet's max wind gust map from yesterday and this morning.
Those reports go along with some hefty rainfall totals as well, including over 4
inches in Harmon County in the far SW.
And that's enough rain in that corner of the state that any further heavy
rains will lead to flash flooding possibilities.
So we've seen some severe weather already, and we should expect more as noted
previously. Here are a few helpful graphics from our local NWS offices.
So we have our week cut out for us. The best advice I can give, as usual, is to
stay weather aware. And keep checking on the forecast because it will evolve
pretty rapidly. And have a plan in case severe weather does strike!
If severe weather does hit and you're not prepared, you'll regret it. Maybe not
today. Maybe not tomorrow, but soon, and for the rest of your life. Or until
the end of the week. Because believe it or not, you DO amount to a hill of
beans.
Stay safe.
