May about to roar back!
Don't call it a comeback (LL Cool J getting lots of play today...Hey, I'm
rhyming!), spring has been here all along. It's just been a bit subdued. We've
still had severe weather during this bout of cool weather, but not the classic
spring severe weather eruptions we're used to. But, that might change by as
early as Saturday as the heat increases and spring roars back.
First, temperatures will be suppressed today thanks to the rain and cloudiness
but the heat of late spring will soon be back in full force
and then come the storms. The forecasters at the Storm Prediction Center and also
the local NWS offices are putting the word out of POSSIBLE (NOT CERTAIN) severe
weather starting out west on Saturday and Sunday and then farther east on
Monday (and maybe sticking around a couple more days).
But first we need to get past a couple of cooler rainy days to get back to
more May-like weather.
We do need the rain in some places still, especially across far western OK where
a small sliver of drought still exists.
If I was anywhere close to Bill Shakespeare, I could have used a Macbethian
"Out damned spot" meme on that one. But, some people are good writers, and
others...not writers of good words very much at all. I really like my
punctuation though!!!
Unfortunately, the biggest rains appear headed to places where they don't need
it quite as much, but you know how this works during spring...it's all about
where those storms form. It's very difficult to predict convective rainfall
amounts.
That's about it...stick close to a good weather source as we get later into the
weekend so you can stay weather aware. And I hate to say this, but for you
youngsters that don't get the LL Cool J lyrics, google.
1990? Are you kidding me?? Ugh, my bones hurt all of a sudden.
