Drought relief galore!

We often say to get the good stuff from your spring rainy season (i.e., RAIN!),
you often have to put up with the bad stuff (i.e., tornadoes, severe winds,
large hail, etc.). Well, none of that with this current batch of moisture, other
than flooding concerns. I know there were some scary reports from out west over
the last couple of days, but not many in Oklahoma. Some medium-sized hail, a
severe gust or two...and LOTS of lightning.

But it's raining! Check out the latest radar map.

Yeah, that's a mess of rain and it's just sitting over us and, uh, raining.

Check out the loopage!

We have an upper-level low out across SE New Mexico hitting a frontal boundary.
That's a prime mix for heavy rains, and heavy they have been.

That 2-4 inches across Roger Mills and Beckham counties is the sweet spot. Too
bad they didn't get more down around Altus (just yet?) or up farther NW in
the Panhandle, but a lot of folks and a lot of wheat are getting a great
moderate soaking. Probably won't see much recovery of reservoirs from this,
but it is indeed a great start. Get those soils moistened up for a nice wet
rest of the spring rainy season?

I'm for it! This will help end a lot of fire danger as well by promoting a nice
general green up over those areas getting the moisture.

A win, finally! I told you this would happen. I was just wrong back in 2011,
2012, 2013 and 2014. One out of five ain't bad.
