Finally, spring acts like spring?

I guess that's the less confident Wyatt Earp, but when it comes to spring the last
few years, uncertainty has been sort of a certainty. Finally, after a couple of
months of saying "hope is around the corner, spring approacheth!!" we might
finally get some real spring-like rains. Not the bigtime severe weather type
rains, but just some good downpours in places that really need it. The rains
should start late tomorrow night and then last for a few days, with Wednesday
being the real drencher. Our friends at the Norman NWS office give us a timeline.

But the rain chances should extend into the weekend (of course, it's spring break
week across Oklahoma...almost as automatic as State Fair for triggering rain).

You can also see the beginnings of another storm early next week there as well.
The rainfall amounts are looking very spring-ish as well over that 7-day period.

Not bad, not bad! Has to verify, though. With these types of forecasts over
the last 5 years, it's generally been "do not trust, do not verify." I have
good thoughts about this rain, however.

Now before we get to the rain, we have to get past another day of warm/hot
weather, along with winds and low humidity (i.e., high fire danger). Again,
we turn to our NWS friends to give us the scoops.

Remember, don't throw your butts out your window (or your cigarettes either).
Both could cause a disaster.

Watch for some temps across NW OK to come close to record-breaking territory.

Spring? Rain? I'm your huckleberry.
