What an awesome terrible rainfall

This map is pretty complicated, very scientific and hard to understand, but I
thought it important to try and convey the feelings of folks around the state
after this last storm system.

Does that help? Okay okay, here is the REAL Mesonet rainfall map with radar-
estimated totals from the last 3 days.

For those of you across the southeastern half (or so) of the state, congratulations.
For those of you across the NW half, terribly sorry. Some great rains fell right
through central Oklahoma and points to the southeast, but that gradient was
razor sharp as you went to the NW. Altus received 0.48 inches, but that will do
very little for those folks other than wet the topsoil a bit, keep the wheat
growing a bit longer. We'll just take a look at the Water Year totals (the
water year runs from Oct. 1, 2014-Sept. 30, 2015) thus far.

But things have gotten worse in just the last 3 months, especially across
northern Oklahoma. The NE corner of the state just experienced its 14th driest
Dec. 10-March 9 since at least 1921. N Central OK wasn't much better with its
21st driest. Not too bad for S Central and SE Oklahoma, relatively speaking.

The lakes around the state are hit and miss. Some have been hit and are still
full...others have been missed, and are becoming but a memory. Check out the
latest reservoir storage map from OWRB.

All bets are off for awhile now. This is pathetic...

and this is pathetic...

This is a bit hopeful...

as is this...

What's even better...April-June is right around the corner. The rainy season...
we hope.
