I was wrrrrrrr...

Now I'm not saying I'm as cool as the Fonz, but as a weather person, sometimes
we have to own up to it ... but it just doesn't come out so easily.

Okay, here's what I said last Thursday would happen for the next two weeks,
basically:

"So the 7-day rain outlook looks much more summer-ish, as does the
8-14 day outlook."





And this is what happened over the weekend:



And this is what is forecast to happen later this week:



Now, all kidding aside, that's a fantastic forecast for those areas that missed
out on last week's good rain, and the rain over the weekend should relieve
drought concerns for much of that area (which had begun to slide back into
drought).

We'll know more about the particulars of this coming weekend's possible rain
(and cool-down) event as we draw closer. But yet another strong cool front
on Friday or Saturday should bring the state more relief.

Until then, it's going to be hot hot HOT!







Notice those 80s across northern Oklahoma for Friday. Sounds too good to be
true, but then again, so did last week. Add another widespread rainfall and
a dose of cooler weather and we're gonna be talking yet again about another
oddity of a month.

Oh yeah, that's one thing I WASN'T wrong about last Thursday when discussing
the chances for another big rain:

"But hey, Oklahoma weather is chock full of oddities lately. So we should
just kindly inform Mother Nature: 'Thank you M'am, may I have another?'"

So there.
