Oklahoma Photo Contest: Submit YOUR Photo!

Last year, the Oklahoma Climatological Survey moved into the
brand-spankin' new National Weather Center. OCS is jam-packed with
hard workers, but the walls are still pretty bare. So OCS cooked
up an employee photo contest to help bring some life to our walls.
As the only state agency in the building, we especially want to
feature Oklahoma itself.

And, when The Ticker Staff reminded the photo contest folks that
we know a few thousand Oklahoma weather and climate enthusiasts,
they graciously agreed to let Ticker subscribers in on it.

So, please consider this an invitation to share your talent and
sense of beauty with your fellow Oklahomans, by sharing your
photographs with our walls.

Here are the rules (there aren't many):

The photo must have been taken in Oklahoma. It must be appropriate
for us to display it in the office, and of sufficient resolution
to be enlarged.

Here's how to enter:

Send us a copy (digital or printed) of your photo.

Digital: ticker@mesonet.org ... we'll pass it along

Printed: Oklahoma Climatological Survey
c/o Oklahoma Photo Contest
120 David L Boren Blvd, Suite 2900
Norman, OK 73072

Prize Information: Here's what the winning entries will receive:

The rich reward of knowing that their photos brightened the
walls and work of the Oklahoma Climatological Survey, empowered
its employees to do better, and ultimately led to better world.
And (with permission) public acknowledgement of their winning
photo submission.

Here are some tips for a winning entry:

Remember that we're the Oklahoma Climatological Survey, and the
judges are probably biased to certain themes implied by those
three words. Namely: weather, climate, landscapes, geography,
exploration, discovery, dealing with weather and the natural world,
and especially Oklahoma. Again, we're open to any theme, but please
understand if we don't pick the snapshot of the tattoo you got the
night of the Ozzy concert.

The fine print:

A. By submitting your photo, you allow OCS the right to display
your photograph in its office. We might even ask you if we can
use it in our publications!

B. No state funds will be used to enlarge and frame the winning
photos.

C. Because of B., we can't return any photos. Please do not send
your originals!
