Just Thought You'd Like To Know
After a weekend whence the Ticker Staff observed budding fruit trees,
we just want to point out that, climatologically speaking, we're
smack-dab in the middle of our coldest two weeks of the year across
much of Oklahoma.
The statistically-smoothed so-called "normal" low temperature bottoms
out at 26F in Tulsa and in Oklahoma City during ealry-to-mid-January.
The "normal" high bottoms out at 46 during this same time.
In January's first 16 days, the day's *average* temperature at Tulsa
(that's the average of the high and the low) was warmer than the normal
*high* temperature twelve times. Oklahoma City was only slightly less
astounding: ten out of sixteen.
