Everything I Needed to Know I Learned as QA Manager

Today, we mark one more day since the winter solstice. For the next
six months, our days get longer, sunnier, brighter, warmer.

This will be the final Ticker of 2005. We'll start our ninth year in
press soon enough.

But, for now, the Ticker would like to share some wisdom gleaned from
the stations of the Oklahoma Mesonet:

* Hot air gets stale real quick.

* High pressure isn't so scary if you take time to measure it and put
it in perspective.

* Use your own frequency and call it like you see it. Sometimes
people may doubt you, or even disprove you, but that's just what
they're used to doing. Sooner or later, you'll report something
astonishing and true.

* You don't have to be 30 years old, or even ten, to make a difference.

* Don't stick your toes in gopher holes.

* Try to be on time.

* The character of air usually depends on where it's blowing from.

* Sometimes it gets lonely all by yourself. Just remember there are
scores of others going through the same thing you are.

* Nothing recharges your battery like a day in the sun.

* Just because your neighbor saw things differently doesn't mean
he's lying.

* Call home every day.

* Get a check-up at least twice a year.

* You don't have to look very hard to find FAIR and GOOD in Oklahoma.
