Good Riddance, November
Early next week, OCS will issue the November 2005 monthly summary.
Let's face it: the rainfall numbers will be bleak. Suffice it to say
that Oklahoma has experienced very few Novembers as dry as 2005's.
Here are some equally depressing rainfall statistics.
Out of 113 Mesonet stations:
Only three (Clayton, Wister, Talihina) recorded at least an inch
of rainfall for the month.
Only eleven (the three listed above, plus Skiatook, Jay, Miami,
Broken Bow, Claremore, Antlers, Buffalo and Nowata) recorded a
half-inch or more for the entire month.
Only 18 recorded at least a quarter-inch of rainfall on any given
day.
Only 42 recorded at least a tenth-inch on a November day ... and
31 of those only did it once!
68 stations recorded less than a tenth-inch for the entire month.
30 recorded none at all.
