I can scarcely remember a day of such splendor
So flawless, I feel must render and tender
My genuine thanks to its generous vendor:

And I'd be a fibber, a conning pretender
To claim I've done more than stare out this winder
And curse it, along with these gray walls of cinder
For closing me in today!

Any messages for me should stay with their sender
Their chances of finding me now are too slender
Because I turned off my lights and cleared my agender.
