Tulsa-area Mesonet Observations Interrupted by Storm Winds
Thunderstorm winds felled a communications tower in Bixby last week,
stopping the flow of Mesonet data from seven stations in the area.
Mesonet staff and technicians are working with members of the Bixby
Police Department to move comms equipment to a new physical location.
Barring rain and lightning, the seven Tulsa-area sites should be up
and running by late afternoon. If Mother Nature wins out (a distinct
possibility), then data should be restored tomorrow.
Each station is still recording observations every five minutes.
Once communications are re-established, these observations will be
recovered and available in the archives.
