Sun Sets on MARS

The MARS site leaves after almost eleven years of service, including
its pre-commission service dating to late 1992. During its "official"
service (beginning Jan 1, 1994), the MARS site observed the following
extremes:

Max Temp: 112F Jul 6, 1996
Min Temp: -15F Feb 4, 1996

Those of you who may be saddened at the loss of MARS, take heart:
its tower and most of its instruments live on as the the new MRSH.
