Fiber Optic Cable Cut: Mesonet Data Interrupted
A main communications line was cut Wednesday evening, severing several
state data linkages, including Oklahoma Mesonet data transmission.
Repairs are underway.
In the meantime, the Mesonet is only able to retrieve data from a few
stations in the network (those that the central facility in Norman
can "see" directly). As soon as the repairs are completed we will
retrieve data from our stations and bring products back to normal
operations.
We will also begin the process of recovering the data that was
unavailable during this communications interruption. Those products
that rely on more than current data (such as 7-day rainfall), will
be affected until the data recovery is complete.
If you have questions, please call the Oklahoma Climatological Survey
at 405-325-2541 or email ocs@ou.edu .
