How Rare Is 100?

Today's high at Will Rogers in OKC eclipsed 100 degrees, marking only
the fourth time in the modern record that the first 100-plus temps
was observed in May or earlier.

Incidentally, the earliest 100+ observation was taken 48 days earlier
than this year's mark: on April 12, 1972. Other early century-toppers
occurred on May 23, 2000 and May 30, 1985.
