News Flash: It's Cold

If you woke up this morning (and we'll assume you did), you noticed
some jarring cold.  Single-digit temperatures appeared for the first
time across parts of northern Oklahoma:


In fact, this morning was the coldest morning of the season for
85 of the Mesonet's 114 stations:


But it's not as bad as it can be on this date.  That minus 16
at Sallisaw in 1930 makes today seem downright tropical:
