Cold Front Plows Through State
A cold front ripped through most of the state by early afternoon,
dropping (or keeping, depending on when it passed) temperatures into
the low 50s across much of Oklahoma. Strong winds are the hallmark
of this front, with a few clear-sky wind gusts approaching values
associated with severe weather.
The following maps show the 24-hour temperature change since yesterday
afternoon, and the peak wind gust at each Mesonet station:
A distinct cloud bank formed along the front as it pushed into some
more moist air:
