News Flash: It's Hot
Temperatures have pushed into the low 90s across much of the state,
and even into mid and upper 90s in southern and southeastern Oklahoma.
Combined with dew points in the upper 60s, these temps spell a pretty
uncomfortable day. Heat indices have nudged into the triple digits
this afternoon.
Are these temps unheard of this late. Nope. Ask anybody who was
outside in Buffalo on this day in 2000, when the thermometer read 112F.
In fact, September 6th has been a hot one several times lately:
in 2000, 1998 and 1995, temperatures of 109F or greater were observed
somewhere in the state.
