Meteogram Catches Western Panhandle Dust Devil?
Yet another fascinating meteogram, this one from last Monday, April 22.
This particular event was noticed by David Demko of the Oklahoma Mesonet
operations folks, who summed it up very well in his e-mail to the
Ticker staff:
The western panhandle was sunny, dry, and breezy [on the 22nd].
The meteogram for the Kenton site spells that out well. Beyond
being incredibly dry, something else happened around 6pm at KENT.
It recorded a 43 mph wind gust (far outside the range of any
others recorded during the day) coincident with a very brief
but noticeable pressure drop and somewhat dampened incoming
solar radiation ... all this as the dewpoint hovered between 5 F
and -15 F. Nearby Boise City did not record this feature.
Could it have been a dust devil at KENT...???
