Warmest Day Yet?
Yesterday, temperatures soared well into the 80s, and even some 90s,
across the vast majority of Oklahoma . About one-third of the Mesonet's
stations recorded their highest temperatures of the year. Buffalo's 93 F
(actually 93.2) edged out Beaver's 93 F (92.7) on April 1st for the
prestigious "Highest Mesonet Temperature of the Year, So Far, Anyway"
standing.
Forecasts call for more of the same today, and it appears that some
areas are out-pacing yesterday's warmth (as of 11:30):
So, don't be surprised if Buffalo's reign is brief!
Some Relief for Some Drought-Stricken Areas
Several days of rainfall within the state brought temporary relief
to some areas afflicted by drought. However, many areas across
drought-stricken northwestern Oklahoma received very little rainfall
from this event:
