Warm Air Invades ... from the North?
This afternoon's weather map shows a peculiar combination: northwestern
Oklahoma is simultaneously home to strong northerly winds and the
warmest air in the state:
Today's rapid frontal passage across western Oklahoma is associated
with a quickly intensifying surface low in west Texas. However, the
front wasn't one of Mother Nature's most impressive to begin with, so
fairly clear skies in the west allowed a rapid modification behind the
wind shift. Eastern Oklahoma had cloudy skies and even some precip,
which kept temps down:
