Record First Freeze Dates Approaching
Autumn 2001 has been pleasantly warm for all of Oklahoma. As the
Ticker noted Monday, several regions within the state have yet to
observe freezing temperatures. With that in mind, here are the
latest first-freeze dates on record for several Oklahoma cooperative
stations. The stations are those for which OCS has a lengthy
historical record - back to 1900, give or take ten years. We'll
also include notes on the "frozen" vs. "unfrozen" status of nearby
Mesonet stations.
