Some Relief!
Conditions across the state today are much more bearable than during
the last two weeks. Northerly winds, cloudy skies and unseasonably
mild temperatures blanket most of the state. The majority of Oklahoma
Mesonet stations recorded the day's maximum temperature at midnight,
otherwise, several stations would not have cracked 80 today.
Along the Red River, particularly in south-central Oklahoma, conditions
are still quite oppressive. However, winds have shifted around from
the north and relief should be on the way soon!
In case you're wondering, the coolest maximum temps observed in the
state on this date ocurred in 1953. Woodward and Webbers Falls recorded
highs of 65 F on that day.
