Power Outage

The City of Norman and the University of Oklahoma experienced a major
power outage just before 9 AM this morning.  Power was restored at the
University after about 50 minutes.  At OCS, the Mesonet Operations Center
had to be powered down about 20 minutes after the outage began.  This
downtime was required because battery backup systems have a limited
capacity, usually around 20 minutes.  Unfortunately, it will take some
additional time to re-ingest Mesonet and other weather data.  We
apologize for the inconvenience but will have data online as soon as
possible.
