Very Strong Winds Rake Oklahoma

skies. Several were associated with a squall line that traveled

More Cool Weather Stuff
This afternoon a very distinctive comma cloud sits over Kansas. Here's
a cool picture:
Last night, the Mesonet captured the advance of the dryline particularly
well. Take a look at the weather map from 2:00 am:
Note the position of the dryline (about one county east of the Texas
panhandle) and the squall line (east of I-35). The Mesonet 3-hour
"delta" maps show some of the effects of these features:
The dewpoint change map shows the advance of the dryline very well.
The pressure change map captures, from west to east: the rises behind
the dryline, the pressure falls in advance of the dryline and in the
wake of the squall line, the pressure rises at the squall line, and
pressure falls in advance of the squall line.
Cool stuff!
