New OCS Drought and Rainfall Monitoring Page Added

In response to the extreme lack of rainfall statewide, OCS has
established the "Oklahoma Drought 2000 Update" with up-to-date
Mesonet rainfall statistics and plenty of links to related agencies
and forecast information.

The page is available at:

The left column presents Mesonet rainfall totals and statistics
since several start dates during the evolution of this drought
period.  These data are updated every night.  Links to images
depicting statewide conditions are provided with each table.

The right column provides links to many state and federal resources
for drought and fire weather information and forecasts.

The page is designed to serve as a portal to necessary information
for citizens, media and decision-makers in the field by utilizing
data from one of the world's unique real-time environmental
monitoring networks.

We hope you find this resource useful during these dry days, but
mostly we hope this is a short-lived product with rainfall returning
to normal soon.
