Summer Heat Streak Underway
After a very cool and wet June, summer has bounced back in recent weeks.
Hot, dry conditions have taken hold over a majority of southern and
central Oklahoma. Here are some 100+ F temperature streaks, as of
yesterday afternoon:
Waurika: 7 days
Altus: 5 days
Hobart: 5 days
Tipton: 5 days
Bessie: 4 days
Lahoma: 4 days
Seiling: 4 days
Ardmore: 3 days
Butler: 3 days
Chickasha: 3 days
Clayton: 3 days
Ketchum Ranch: 3 days
Kingfisher: 3 days
Marshall: 3 days
Ringling: 3 days
Walters: 3 days
Weatherford: 3 days
Ninnekah: 3 days
As of 2:00 pm today, Ringling, Walters and Waurika had already extended
their streaks (to four, four and eight days, respectively). Several
more stations were observing temps in the upper 90s as well. Mesonet

A handful of locations in northern and central Oklahoma have received
significant rainfall in the last few days. Here are some rainfall
totals since Sunday at Noon:
Boise City: 1.81" (also 55, 57, and 58 mph wind gusts Monday evening)
Hooker: 1.40"
Beaver: 1.05"
El Reno: 0.54"
Newkirk: 0.52"
May Ranch: 0.42"
Buffalo: 0.34"
Foraker: 0.33"
