Overnight Severe Weather, Round Two

Another evening and overnight round of convection rumbled across the
state last night, dumpin heavy rain and delivering strong wind gusts
to several regions of Oklahoma.

The two 80+ mph gusts were verified at three heights by our Mesonet
quality assurance manager.


Speaking of Ketchum Ranch

As the Ketchum Ranch Mesonet site received its 82 mph wind gust at
six o'clock this morning, the air temperature dropped nearly 15 degrees
Fahrenheit!




Heat Burst in Caddo County

The Fort Cobb area was the recipient of repeated thunderstorms
Wednesday night.  Last night, the area was treated to a fairly
significant heat burst:

The Mesonet station at Wynona in Osage County has collected 5.96 inches
of rainfall in the last 48 hours.  Heavy rainfall has also shown its
impact on the hydrograph of nearby Sand Creek:
