Spring 1999 Quite Wet Across the Board

The climatological spring season (March through May) of 1999 brought
well above-normal precipitation throughout the state. The northestern
portion of the state was especially drenched, receiving 167% of its
normal rainfall for the season. A comprehensive table is attached
at the end of the Ticker today.


Yesterday's Storms

Afternoon storms rumbled across eastern and southeastern Oklahoma
yesterday. Here are the stations in those regions which have observed
significant rainfall since 3:00 pm yesterday:

which replaces wind chill at the seasonal discomfort slot. Mother Nature
gave the new map a workout yesterday, with dewpoint temperatures
approaching, and even exceeding, 80 F yesterday. Heat indices hovered
near 110 F for much of the afternoon. in southeastern Oklahoma.
