Another Interesting Meso-feature:
Last night, between about 8:00 and 9:30 pm, several Mesonet stations
in and just west of the OKC metro area observed a sharp and
high-amplitude pressure drop, followed by an equally sharp rise.
A quick look at the following meteograms from the Mesonet Subscriber's
Data Page ( http://www.mesonet.org/ ) shows the feature,
which was accompanied by very strong southerly winds.
Kingfisher, El Reno, Hinton, Minco, Norman, Watonga, Spencer.
This sharp pressure drop last about 60-90 minutes. Was it a mesolow
forming in the inflow region to the multicell storm? Was it a wave
effect from the multicell storm to the northwest?
Maybe somebody with the answer can drop the Ticker a line at
darndt@ou.edu, and we can provide the readership with the explanation.
