Fun with drylines!
A dryline has set up in western Oklahoma over the early afternoon.
Dewpoint temperatures on either side of the dryline range from the
mid-60s to its east to the 30s and 40s (generally) to its west.
For much of the afternoon, the Mesonet station at Hobart has been
just on the border of the moist, gulf air and the west Texas dry air.
A look at the meteogram from Hobart shows how just a subtle cange
in wind direction can mean a big difference in dew point temperature.
(notice the afternoon oscillation of wind direction and dewpoint)
Also, the position of the dry line is reflected in several Oklahoma
Fire Danger Model variables, most notably ignition component (IC) and
1-hr dead fuel moisture (FM).
