Fire Danger Model "Sees" Improved Conditions

The recent rainfall and cooler temperatures have put a dent in the

the Burning Indices (BI) of today and August 2nd indicates a slight
"cool down" in wildfire conditions.

Relief

After 49 straight days of at least one Mesonet station recording a high
temperature of 100 F or more, today may be the third straight day that no
stations hit 100 F.

As of 1:00 pm, the warmest temperature observation was 90 F, at several
stations in south-central Oklahoma.

Birthdays

Happy 6th birthday to ELRE and SPEN! El Reno and Spencer were among
the first stations to go on-line during the developmental phases
of the Oklahoma Mesonet, and today is the sixth anniversary of their
installation.
