Here's a quick top-10 of the lowest historical July 24 temps to punctuate the unusually cold weather for late July. -***- Site Temperature Year Arapaho (COOP) 44F 1911 Optima Lake (COOP) 45F 1989 Camargo (Mesonet) 48F 2019 Roff (COOP) 49F 1904 El Reno (Mesonet) 50F 2019 Buffalo (Mesonet) 51F 2019 Fairland (COOP) 51F 1911 Gate (COOP) 51F 2013 Oakwood (COOP) 51F 1927 Okmulgee (COOP) 51F 1970 -****- Have to note that there were four other Mesonet readings this morning that just missed the top 10, with Butler, Erick, Eva and Seiling all coming in at 52 degrees. Oklahoma City got into the act by lowering their record low for this date by 2 degrees, from 61 in 1970 to 59 this morning. Enjoy it whilst you can. Summer WILL be back.
