That's not a meteogram. THAT'S a meteogram.

A "Crocodile Dundee" movie sounds pretty good right now. For those living in a
cave, I envy your warm weather! Those of us above ground are enjoying snow,
blowing snow, winds gusting to over 50 mph, temperatures in the teens and single
digits, and wind chills from 0 to -30 degrees. Snowfall totals range from just
a few inches in western Oklahoma to more than a foot in northeastern Oklahoma. I
hesitate to give official totals yet because with the blizzard conditions,
accurate measurements will be difficult.

At 9:05 am, the Mesonet site at Boise City had a wind chill of -36 degrees. That
is the lowest wind chill ever recorded by the Mesonet (-32 degrees at
Kenton on February 3, 1996). The wind chill of -32 degrees at Goodwell this
morning ties the previous all-time mark . Here is a look at the lowest wind
chills of the day thus far, at least up until 9:45 am.

Wanna see something cool (pardon the pun)?? Check out what happens to the
temperature scale on today's meteogram from Boise City as it tries to compensate
for that -36 wind chill:

That's quite a change from the weather of the past week, as you can see from
this 7-day meteogram from the same site:

Wanna see something even cooler (cooler cool??)? Check out the 4-day meteogram
from Fairview, from a January-statewide highest of 78 degrees on the 28th to
5 degrees today:

Keep watching the Ticker in the next couple of days as we go data mining (we
have our own cave) to put this cold snap into historical perspective.

G'day mate!
