It's Been A While

With the exception of three panhandle stations (Beaver, Hooker, Kenton),
no Mesonet station has received at least one-quarter inch of rainfall
in 18 days. Here are the Mesonet stations which have gone the longest
since a "quarter-inch day":

Cloudy 35 days
Ringling 35 days
Burneyville 33 days
Ketchum Ranch 33 days
Walters 33 days
Waurika 33 days
Idabel 32 days
Tishomingo 29 days
Grandfield 29 days


Eastern Oklahoma Continues to Swelter

The latest heat index map, updated every 15 minutes at:
http://www.mesonet.org/data/public/mesonet/maps/realtime/current.heat.gif
shows Mesonet heat indices greater than 110 F over much of eastern
Oklahoma as of 3:00 pm. The state's most extreme heat indices have
been within about 60 miles of the Tulsa metropolitan area for the
majority of the afternoon.
