You love to see it, right?
What is "Things Gary's mirror will never say, Alex?"
But the entire state at LEAST in the blue, but a lot and lot of dark green (and even some yellers here and there, for totals eclipsing the 4" mark). Annndddd... heck, it's raining right now for crying out loud!

And look at the transformation of these maps!

Yes, there are still some pretty big deficits, but a lot of those short-term drought impacts will be alleviated. The biggest of which we should now see a pretty nice statewide green up once the sun comes back along with a little bit of heat. And that will mean an end to our prolonged critical-to-extreme fire danger for awhile.
THIS image of our relative greenness will get much better.

AND this image, which was left with status quo for this week in anticipation of the rain. There will be some decent improvements (well would you rather have INDECENT ones??) on next week's Drought Monitor map.
https://ticker.mesonet.org/archive/20230427/20230425_ok_trd.png And here's the kicker...we ain't done with the rainfall! There will be another storm system sliding down this way from the NW that will provide another bout of rain from Friday into Saturday.

This important reinforcing rainfall should help up those totals a bit more for added drought relief. It might come with a bit of severe weather tomorrow, but mostly confined to far south central OK, so stay alert!

It's a long march (no, not March...that's over) back to respectable spring temperatures, but we'll get there eventually.

Still waiting on the Ticker to get back to respectable. We'll get there eventually?
