HA! Only a fool of an Okie would have counted winter out already this year.
Oh yeah, well I happen to like winter!
Well how long have you lived here? Have you no sense of history, man?
Doesn't matter, the longer I live the more I hate winter and yearn for spring (i.e., summer).
Well how's that working out for ya?
About as well as this bit of arguing with myself? Don't blame me if I have spring fever, given the forecast highs I see coming up this week. 70s? 80s (if only they had capital numbers, I'd have used them on "80s"!).

However, it is okay to lament/hate/cringe at another strong cold front for this weekend, arriving Friday night (along with a chance for severe weather, but that's a Ticker for a later Tocker).

And then as you saw with the last graphic, we'll have a chance for a freeze across the northern half of the state on Sunday morning, maybe a frost a bit farther south from there. But lament not (well, go ahead), because the average date of the last freeze is quickly approaching for much of the state.

That might not necessarily happen, of course. It IS Oklahoma, after all. Freezes have occurred well into April, and closer to June than April in the Panhandle.

Nevertheless, spring (i.e., summer!) temperatures are right around the corner. Now to finish our assignment.
Dear Mother Nature,
We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole 3 months of warm weather for whatever it is we did wrong, but we think you're crazy for making us write an essay telling you what we think of winter. You see winter as you want to see winter, in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that WINTER REALLY STINKS. Does that answer your question?
Sincerely yours, The Spring Club.
