Winter unleashed!

Gulp if you have to. Stock up on Wolf Brand Chili. Wait, what? How long has it been since you've had a big, thick, steaming bowl of Wolf Brand Chili? Well, that's okay with me. Why would I care? I don't own stock in the company or anything. And there's always Hormel.
(GASP!) Forgive me, Wolf Brand, for I have sinned.
Why are we talking about chili again? Oh yeah! Winter is coming next week. It will actually be back on Friday, but that's sorta just "wow, it's cold for October" style winter. Highs will be in the 80s tomorrow, making Thursday night's cold front a bit shocking, then we see a freeze Friday and Saturday morning in parts of the state.

We recover a bit on Sunday before a more serious cold front comes in on Sunday night, with lots of wind and air from the North Pole region. Still some uncertainty about just how cold it will get, but throughout the day on Monday and well into Tuesday and maybe Wednesday, it's gonna January around here. If you have tender plants, prepare for a possible freeze over much of the state. Again, not sure on that just yet, but the potential is there, AND that freeze could last a relatively long time.
The best news is the possibility of rain with the front on Thursday night into Friday. We need rain much more than we need any cold weather. Then we'll again see a chance of moisture early next week with Frontzilla. Some of that is looking like wintry precipitation (sleet, freezing rain, snow), the details of which are just too iffy right now. Overall, it's a decent drink for some of the state, even for those folks that have gone a month and a half without anything.

Even with that rosy outlook, there will be some folks that get very little, and others that get quite a bit. Even that 0.25-0.5 inches forecast across western OK will be much welcomed.
So prepare accordingly for possible freezing weather, at least for those that haven't had it yet.
1. Take in all hoses, tender plants, pets, etc.
2. Buy Wolf Brand Chili (or Hormel, if'n your taste buds aren't as refined as mine.
3. Hibernate until March.
