Storms Pepper Eastern Oklahoma
Scattered afternoon thundershowers have popped up in areas of the state, most impressively in the eastern third of Oklahoma. The showers in the east provide some relief for locations with dewpoint temperatures which reached well into the upper 70s earlier this afternoon.
Some of the showers have very heavy rain, and here are some rainfall totals from the Oklahoma Mesonet, as of 3:00 pm:
Tahlequah 0.58" Webbers Falls 0.47" Antlers 0.42" Cookson 0.28" Clayton 0.26" Stigler 0.13"
The showers still seem to be doing quite well, thank you very much, so don't be surprised if today's rainfall values in the region increase. Today's rainfall observations are updated every fifteen minutes at: http://www.mesonet.org/data/public/mesonet/maps/realtime/today.rain.gif
New Stream Gauge Graphs are Here!
The Stream Gauge graphics provided by the Oklahoma Water Resources Board and the Oklahoma Mesonet have received a bit of a tune-up.
They are available at the bottom of the Mesonet Subscribers' Data Page, and are now updated every 15 minutes.
One Year Ago Today
On July 7, 1998, the Butler Mesonet station collected 4.07 inches of rainfall. That amount accounted for two-thirds of Butler's total rainfall for the summer of 1998.
