Beware of things that go bump in the DAY

Do not clean your glasses. No, your windshield is not dirty...don't bother. And for goodness sake, if you see skeletal pirates with red glowing eyes burning through the haze, don't go up and talk to them! Horrible 1980's horror film reference notwithstanding, things have gotten a bit hazy in the state following our lovely, windy weekend. Even the Ticker blew it yesterday when walking outside in the morning and thinking "not bad...we don't need a jacket!" only to be blasted into oblivion by the marauding cold front. So things, even compared to yesterday morning, are a bit chillier, relatively speaking, and yes, I can insert more commas, because, yes, they are awesome! Oh yeah, the 24-hour temperature change map.

A chilly morning indeed! Stupid front stalled out just south of the Red River, leaving us on the cold side of the pillow.

And the cold is intensified by the wetness, as the Mesonet's RH map shows how we are saturated at ground level, thus socked in with clouds.

Now for the excitement...the front will lift to the north tomorrow, giving parts of the state a chance for severe weather. To the north, which should be on the cold side of the front, perhaps a bit of frozen precip. We now turn to our NWS friends in an attempt to shift the blame if...I mean to show us what could happen tomorrow.

Tornado threat ain't zero, but it ain't big either. After that, a cold Thursday and a painfully slow warm up through early next week as we await the inevitability of our next cold front.
