2026 calling...

Oh, you don't know the story of the lonesome restaurant built on Norman's far SW
side nearly two decades ago for millions of dollars, always rumored to be opening
with some fabulous eatery in mind, but vacant it sits still?
Well I won't bore ya (I HEARD THAT!) with that one, but I will bore ya about the
fog this morning, which is bad enough it deserves an NWS advisory through 10am.

It's clouds on the ground, ya see, at that point where the dewpoint is the
same as the temperature, meaning water starts to condense at that point. Meaning
we have a relative humidity of 100%. Meaning we have a dew point (couldn't they
have made that one word??) depression, or the difference between the temperature
and the dewpoint (SEE??), of 0.

It's a bit more complicated than saying "it's clouds on the ground," of course,
but I said I wouldn't bore ya.
Okay, I lied...but what about that rain deal? I talked yesterday about our
growing dry spell exceeding 3 weeks for most of us.

And our December has been downright pitiful. Heck, this fog might be the most
moisture most of us see for the rest of 2026, for crying out loud!

We're already dealing with our 5th-driest December 1-17 averaged statewide
since 1895 with 0.08 inches.

The driest full month of December is 0.09 inches from 1950, so there you go. We
need another hundredth to lose that top spot. Well, two of 'em.
Prospects are dim for most of the state through the next 7 days. Some wayward
drops down in far SE OK might boost us up to 0.1", but it's really not looking
good through the rest of 2025, unfortunately.

We are getting close enough to have a pretty good picture for Christmas Day here
in Oklahoma, and once again I'm not getting that Stretch Armstrong I wanted
when I was 10, but that's okay...I didn't get you anything either!
Oh wait, we were talking weather. Yeah, the forecast is starting to firm up on
it being warm for Christmas Day, with possible highs in the 70s? You serious,
Clark??

That's right...the Winter Store might be closed until 2026 also.
